Consists of official documents certifying the various components of the predecessor bodies (American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), Evangelical Lutheran Church, United Evangelical Lutheran Church (U.S.)) to the American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) as they existed at the time of the merger. Documents of the Lutheran Free Church are not included here since the Lutheran Free Church did not become part of the new church until 1963. These documents are contained in Record Group TALC 1/9.
